In 2020, I opened a speakeasy in my studio. The entrance was made through a cut-out in the wall, measuring to 50 x 120 cm, creating a portal to a parallel existence. Since then, the speakeasy has opened in different esoteric locations, where each time its details shifted in accordance to its context of presentation. Most recently, the speakeasy opened at the Artport residency in Tel Aviv. The entrance on this occasion was through the building’s parking. A screen on the wall showed live CCTV footage from a camera set in my studio two floors above, filming the alley just outside.
