A series of 23 “mugshot” photographs documenting objects I’ve previously built. The objects are based on shanks - improvised weapons made by prisoners from available materials for self-defense.
The work builds a protocol of documentation, playing with the viewer’s trust in photographic evidence, and with the relationship between object and threat.
